History

Gerald Leonsmane was born in Cormyr, where he grew up to serve in the ranks of the Purple Dragons. He was decorated with several battle honors through out his tour of duty, and eventually took a post as a drill instructor. Eventually, he chose to retire, but decided that he would always be dragged into battle if he stayed in Cormyr. So he decided to leave in search of a more quite home.

One day his travels took him to a bar, where he struck a conversation with a sailor, who was curious about his deeds with the Purple Dragons. The sailor returned Geralds tales with stories of his own, about a land magicly hidden from the rest of Faerun. A land no one on Toril remembered, outside of its own denizines. Although Gerald thought he was exagurrating, he did like what he heard about the isolation, and so happily sailed back with the sailor.

However, what the sailor had not told him was that he was in fact a Fearthegn Recruiter; a man sent out of the Kareyn valley to recruit adventurers and bring them back to aid the city of Beldin against its enemies. Gerald learnt of this on the way, and shortly after his arrival, found that he had stepped into quite the opposite of a peaceful retirement.
